The Municipal Vocational School for Woodcarving, located in the centre of the cultural city of Munich, is an internationally recognised educational institution in a network of artisan schools. We teach both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary working methods in the interplay of theory and practice as well as expertise in handling a wide range of materials and techniques.
In addition to traditional craft techniques, we teach versatile, contemporary working methods in the interplay of theory and practice. In addition to expertise in wood, students also gain experience with a wide range of sculpting materials such as stone, silicone, clay, plaster and concrete.
We take advantage of our immediate proximity to Königsplatz, the museum area and the Münchner Künstlerhaus for regular visits and work together with these and other art institutions in the form of joint projects and exhibitions. We organise excursions for our students in Germany and abroad and present their work to a broad public in competitions and at exhibitions.
